The SHIFT Project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, will present its final results at the Digital Heritage 2025 World Congress and Expo in Siena (8–13 September), the premier international event for cultural heritage digitalisation.

Over the past three years, SHIFT has developed a suite of innovative tools designed to make cultural heritage more accessible, inclusive, and appealing. These tools harness cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning, haptics, and audio synthesis, helping cultural institutions enhance engagement and ensure that heritage is experienced by all communities.

“Digital Heritage 2025 is the ideal stage for us to share the outcomes of SHIFT with the cultural heritage community,” said Razvan Purcarea, SHIFT Project Coordinator. “We are proud to demonstrate how our work supports museums, libraries, and archives in embracing the digital transformation.”

Part of the Digital Cultural Heritage Cluster

SHIFT will also appear alongside its sister projects in the Digital Cultural Heritage Cluster, a group of Horizon Europe initiatives working together to advance the accessibility, inclusion, and appeal of cultural heritage through the adoption of the latest technologies.

“The Cluster gives us the opportunity to align efforts, share knowledge, and amplify our impact,” added Purcarea. “Together, we are building the future of digital heritage.”
