Presentation

Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica (UMB) is the most significant higher education institution in Central Slovakia. It provides sufficient space and facilities for research, teaching and networking.

International cooperation has been rapidly developing in recent years mainly through participation in numerous EU projects funded by the Framework Programmes (FP5, FP6 and FP7), H2020 and HEU and has long-term experience in participation in many other research projects funded by various grant schemes, for example OSF, CEEPUS, Interreg, Erasmus+, EEA and Norway grants, VISEGRAD, etc.

A number of international projects were dedicated to heritage studies (Etnofolk, RUINS, INCULTUM, ARCHE). The analyses in the heritage science field focus on sustainability of lived culture, management of turisms, transmission of culture contents, and cultural diversity.
