This virtual conference will discuss the findings of the CHIEF project’s international research on youth cultural identities, practices and participation across Europe and Beyond.

The presentations of our findings are structured across four thematic panels:

(1) The youth’s perspective on the future and past of European identities

(2) Praxis of heritage re-making

(3) Young people making sense of culture: between inclusivity and ethno-nationalism?

(4) Sites of learning: young people’s experiences of diverse educational environments.

In addition to the research presentations, the conference will include round table sessions bringing together education, arts and heritage practitioners, policy-makers and young people from nine countries (Croatia, Georgia, Germany, India, Latvia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and the UK) to reflect on our findings and discuss policy implications.

The conference will also provide a platform for young people’s perspectives on their lives and cultural practices as heritage-in-the-making.

The programme for the conference is available here. Please note that the days are slightly longer than originally advertised (see the programme for details).
