EUreka3D-XR is an EU-funded project which works to enhance the use of 3D and XR in the common European data space for cultural heritage. Experienced project partners are working together to develop tools and resources which enable cultural heritage institutions to use their content to create immersive experiences for researchers, students, tourists and creatives.
The project is coming to an end in July 2026, but its efforts are not slowing down in its last months! There are many exciting events planned where professionals can benefit from the resources created by the project, develop their skills and network with project partners. Discover them all below!
EUreka3D-XR at Public Domain Day in Europe 2026
Date: 15 January 2026
Location: Online and onsite, Royal Library of Belgium, Brussels
EUreka3D-XR will take part in Public Domain Day in Europe 2026, organised by meemoo. This annual event is dedicated to celebrating public domain and exploring how openly accessible cultural heritage can be reused, shared and transformed into new creative experiences. At Public Domain Day, partners from EUreka3D-XR will show onsite participants how EUreka3D-XR supports cultural heritage institutions to turn open cultural resources, and especially 3D objects, into meaningful, reusable and engaging experiences with the five open source XR-tools created in the project.
Registration for the Public Domain Day event has now closed but if you are attending, come and say hello at the EUreka3D-XR booth!
3D-4CH Winter School
Dates: 21 – 23 January 2026
Location: Online and onsite, Royal Museums of Art and History, Brussels
The 3D-4CH Winter School is a three-day training and networking event dedicated to advancing the use of 3D technologies in cultural heritage. At the Winter School, EUreka3D-XR project partner Antonella Fresa will present the openly accessible resources the project (and its precursor, EUreka3D-XR) have developed since 2023. These include the EUreka3D Data Hub, a EU-based platform for safe storage, management and sharing of 3D assets, as well as the ‘Step to Success’ digitisation guidelines derived from the EU VIGIE Study 2020/654. She will also share the project’s most recent developments – the project’s five tools for XR creation – and demonstrate how they have been used in scenarios in France, Spain and Cyprus.
Registration for the Winter School has now closed but if you are attending, don’t miss the EUreka3D-XR session!
EUreka3D-XR Demonstration Event and Workshop
Date: 29 January 2026
Location: Online and onsite, El Modern, Girona
This hybrid event will offer participants tangible insights into how 3D and XR technologies can serve the cultural heritage sector, and showcase the tools and pilot scenarios that EUreka3D-XR has developed. The day will be divided into two parts: a morning hybrid session, focused on demonstrations of the EUreka3D-XR tools and discussion on pilot scenarios, and an afternoon onsite workshop, dedicated to archivists and focused on hands-on experimentation with one of the project’s tools.
