During the Info Day event organized by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) on May 5th, the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI) presented the upcoming Resilient Cultural Heritage (RCH) Partnership, part of the Horizon Europe 2025 Cluster 2 calls. The initiative was introduced within the broader framework of the ARCHE project (Alliance for Research on Cultural Heritage in Europe), a key step toward establishing a long-term, coordinated European effort in cultural heritage research.
The AEI’s presentation underscored the RCH Partnership’s ambitious goals, including:
- Strengthening cross-border collaboration and overcoming fragmentation in cultural heritage research;
- Enhancing the integration of cultural heritage into climate change adaptation policies;
- Promoting innovation in heritage preservation through advanced technologies and traditional knowledge;
- Supporting transnational research and capacity building via grants and a wide range of additional activities.
The AEI emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative for the Spanish research and innovation community and encouraged active participation in the upcoming transnational calls. The RCH Partnership aligns closely with EU objectives such as the Green Deal, sustainable development, and the European Framework for Action on Cultural Heritage.
