As Culture Action Europe prepares the second edition of our flagship publication, the State of Culture Report, we want to hear directly from those shaping the cultural and creative sectors today. Whether you are an artist, cultural manager, producer, curator, or director, working across architecture, audiovisual, crafts, design, fashion, heritage, literature, music, performing arts, visual arts, or another creative sector — your perspective matters. We are seeking voices of professionals based in the EU and candidate countries, however, responses from other countries are also valuable for certain aspects of our research.

The State of Culture Report is a biannual publication that examines the key challenges and opportunities facing the cultural sector in Europe, and how culture’s role and value are understood in national and European policies. It aims to spark critical reflection on where we stand today — and where we are heading — while contributing fresh insights to cultural advocacy and policy debates.

As part of this work, we invite you to take part in the State of Culture Barometer. This survey gathers your views on essential questions: What challenges do cultural sectors face today? Is culture valued as it should be by policymakers? And how do you personally assess the current state of culture in Europe?

The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and consists mainly of multiple-choice questions. The deadline to complete this survey is 31 May, 23:59 CEST. All responses are anonymous. The results will be published in the State of Culture 2026 Report in autumn 2026.
